And then there were five: Another CityGate Centre business named to "Smartest" DuPage workplaces

PTMA is in this year's Choose DuPage feature, marking the fifth time since 2020 CityGate Centre is recognized on the annual list.

In 2020 Choose DuPage launched its annual Smartest, Sleekest & Healthiest Workplaces in

DuPage list--now simplified to DuPage County's Smartest Workplaces--naming our multi-use community, CityGate Centre, to its inaugural list. In the six years since, a CityGate Centre tenant has been named to the list four more times:


  • On the 2021 list, CityGate Centre tenant Kinetrics was included for its US Headquarters, created in 2019, as "a good example of people-first design." Highlights included "the abundant amenities" at CityGate Centre along with the airy aesthetic and flexible workspaces.


  • M/I Homes regional headquarters at 2135 CityGate Lane was Naperville's largest office-only lease in 2022 and was named to the Smartest list for that year. The space was recognized for its focus on health, including the ionized clean-air system Calamos Real Estate installed in the building in 2021, and for the leading homebuilders' philosophy that "every square foot serve a purpose."


  • The 2024 list includes the headquarters and tech center for SIMPSON, recognized for it's approach to workplace design noting, "What's good for the planet and what's good for people are often the same thing." The review further notes the floor-to ceiling windows that not only allow beautiful views, but by allowing abundant natural light the transparent, microscopically thin coating on the glass reflects UV and infrared energy, helping maintain the temperature inside the building. It notes it's only one of the many green features at SIMPSON's new HQ, chose in part because of the commitment to sustainability at CityGate Centre.


  • And now in 2026, we are proud to have one of our very first tenants, PTMA which has occupied the top floor of 2135 CityGate Ln. since 2009 and recently completed a refresh of the space that maintained some of its original character--including original art pieces celebrating Chicago and Chicagland amenties--while evolving to accommodate the technology and health advantages of the modern workplace.


In addition to being named to the DuPage Smartest list, PTMA is among the ranks of business headquarters that call CityGate Centre home, beginning with anchor Calamos Investments in 2005 and continuing with Investortools, M/I Homes regional HQ, SIMPSON and Veteran Business Project.
